2. General information on data processing

Personal data means any data by which you can be personally identified. Personal data is processed exclusively in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

We process personal data only insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website, respond to inquiries, carry out our communications, and analyse and optimise our online offering.

3. Hosting and technical provision via Wix

Our website is operated via Wix.com Ltd. and services of the Wix platform. When you visit our website, technical information is processed that is required to provide the website and to ensure the stability and security of the service. This may include in particular your IP address, browser information, device information, access times, pages visited, and technical log data. Wix explains that website operators may collect personal information through the platform both directly from visitors and automatically by means of monitoring and analytics tools. Wix also notes that a cookie banner should be used for non-essential cookies.

Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in the secure, stable, and functional presentation of our website.

Where personal data is transferred to third countries in connection with hosting or use of the platform, this is carried out, according to the relevant providers, on the basis of appropriate safeguards or other data protection mechanisms. You should additionally review this contractually and technically as part of your specific Wix configuration.

4. Server log files

When you visit the website for informational purposes only, information is automatically collected that your browser transmits to the server. This includes in particular:

  • IP address

  • Date and time of the request

  • Browser type and browser version

  • Operating system used

  • Referrer URL

  • Hostname of the accessing computer

  • Pages accessed

This data is used for the technical provision of the website, system security, and error analysis, and is not used to draw direct conclusions about your identity.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Contacting us

If you contact us by email or via a contact form, we process the information you provide in order to handle your inquiry and, where applicable, to respond to follow-up questions.

In particular, the following data may be processed:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number, if provided

  • Content of your message

Processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your inquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, or on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in connection with our legitimate interest in proper communication.

6. Newsletter via Mailchimp

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address and, where applicable, any additional information you provide voluntarily in order to send you information about our company, collections, events, and selected topics.

We use Mailchimp, a service of the Intuit group, to send our newsletter. Mailchimp provides features for GDPR-compliant consent collection and notes that enabling GDPR fields alone does not constitute full compliance; rather, valid consent and proper documentation are required.

Subscription to our newsletter takes place only with your express consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example via the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by contacting us directly.

In connection with newsletter distribution, Mailchimp may process information relating to the delivery and use of newsletters, such as delivery status, opens, and click behaviour, insofar as we use these features. This serves the statistical evaluation and content-related optimisation of our communications.

Before publication, please check whether open and click tracking is actually activated in Mailchimp. If not, this section should be shortened accordingly.

7. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google, provided that you have given your consent through our consent banner. Wix itself points out that analytics data is only collected from visitors who have consented when the consent banner is active.

Google Analytics enables us to analyse how our website is used in order to improve content, navigation, and reach. In this context, page views, time spent on pages, interactions, technical information about the device used, and approximate location information may be processed. Google states that IP addresses collected in the EU are not logged or stored in Google Analytics. Google also explains for GA4 that separate IP anonymization is not required, since IP addresses are not logged or stored.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings on our website.

It is important that Google Analytics is only loaded after active consent has been given and that no personal content such as email addresses or other directly identifying information is transmitted to Google. Google expressly prohibits the transmission of personal identifiers to Analytics.

8. Instagram feed and social media integrations

Our website may include an Instagram feed or other Instagram content. The provider is Meta. In the case of such integration, personal data may be transmitted to Meta or Instagram when the relevant content is accessed, in particular your IP address and technical usage data. Meta explains in its privacy policy in general terms how data is processed in connection with its services.

If the Instagram feed actively loads content from Instagram when the page is opened, this type of integration should, from a data protection perspective, only be used after the relevant consent has been obtained. Technically privacy-friendly two-click solutions or consent-based solutions are preferable.

The legal basis is therefore generally Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, provided that external Instagram content is only loaded after consent has been given.

Please make sure to check how the feed is integrated on your website:

  • as a simple link to Instagram,

  • as a static image with a link, or

  • as an active plugin or embedded live feed.

The precise wording of this section should depend on that implementation.

9. Cookies and consent management

Our website uses cookies and comparable technologies. Some of them are technically necessary, while others serve analytics, statistics, or the integration of external content. Wix provides functions for cookie banners and consent logs and notes that non-essential cookies should only be set after appropriate consent has been obtained.

Technically necessary cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in order to ensure the secure and technically error-free provision of the website.

We use analytics and marketing cookies, as well as cookies for external content, only with your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

You may adjust or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie settings on our website.

10. Recipients of personal data

Personal data may be transferred to external service providers where this is necessary for the operation of our website and our communications. This includes in particular:

  • Wix as the website platform and hosting provider

  • Mailchimp as the newsletter service provider

  • Google in connection with Google Analytics

  • Meta or Instagram where external Instagram content is actively integrated

Where required, we conclude data processing agreements with service providers who process personal data on our behalf.

11. Storage period

We store personal data only for as long as this is necessary for the respective purposes or as long as statutory retention obligations apply.

  • Data from contact inquiries is generally stored only for as long as necessary to process and follow up on the inquiry.

  • Newsletter data is stored until you unsubscribe from the newsletter.

  • Analytics and cookie data depend on the technical settings we have selected and the storage periods specified by the respective services.

Especially in the case of Google Analytics and Mailchimp, the actual retention periods set in the respective accounts should be reviewed and, where appropriate, specified more concretely in this Privacy Policy. Google provides corresponding privacy and control features for this purpose.

12. Your rights

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have in particular the right:

  • to obtain information about the personal data we store about you,

  • to request the rectification of inaccurate data,

  • to request the erasure of your data,

  • to request restriction of processing,

  • to receive your data in a portable format,

  • to object to the processing of your data,

  • to withdraw any consent you have given with effect for the future.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data.

13. Objection to advertising emails

We hereby object to the use of the contact details published as part of our legal notice obligation for the sending of advertising and informational material that has not been expressly requested.

14. Updates to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy so that it always complies with current legal, technical, and factual requirements, or in order to reflect changes to our services.

The version published on this website at the time of your visit shall apply.
